OUR HISTORY
The Casa Roque Restaurant was opened in 1980 on Calle Segura Barreda Nº 8. Its beginnings were as a Typical Tapas bar and seeing such a favorable reception from the clientele, the premises were reformed and work began as restaurant.
Throughout our history we have participated in many events promoting our cuisine and our entire area.
In 1992, we were appointed representatives of the Valencian Community to run the Community Restaurant at the Universal Exhibition in Seville “EXPO 92”.
April 20, 2000 marks a new era for our house by moving to our new location and although we have not walked more than 20 meters, the leap in terms of facilities has been very important.
The current Casa Roque is located on Cuesta San Juan No. 1 corner with Calle Segura Barreda, known in Morella as Cinco Esquinas and we occupy one of them. It is a building with 700 m2, composed of 3 noble halls, kitchen, pastry-bakery, pantries, services, cellar, warehouses. Everything is framed within an old 17th century building steeped in history, which has undergone a restoration, respecting it to the fullest and conditioning it for its current use.
AT THE MOMENT
In this building there are centuries-old doors, high ceilings, wooden beams steeped in history, where the feeling of space constitutes a unique environment while reliving the history of Morella: Ibera, Roman, Moorish, Christian, etc.
